In 2008 I wrote a MySpace message to my favourite band, "Menomena", asking if they would consider producing the first Dear Reader album. Brent Knopf took the leap and flew to Johannesburg to work with us (us being me and Darryl Torr, my bandmate and co-conspirator at the time.) The result was "Replace Why with Funny".

It won the heart of Christof Ellinghaus of respected Berlin-based indie label, "City Slang" and was released in 2009, selling around 10,000 copies in Europe, and allowing me and my band to tour the region extensively. Basically, the stuff dreams are made of.
